This publication presents industry employment projections. These long-term projections are revised every two years to incorporate economic changes that occur across the nation. Data contained in these tables are the best available source of information for estimating job opportunities, developing training programs and gaining an insight into future employment trends. All data in this publication were prepared by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, Center for Workforce Information & Analysis (CWIA).
The projections are estimates of employment levels and trends, not exact counts. Events may occur during the 10-year projection period that are impossible to predict. These data are most useful when used in conjunction with other economic data.
Before viewing the industry projections, you may want to read about the methodology that was used to prepare these data. In addition, a listing of all North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes and titles used in these reports is available from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Long-term industry projections are published for the state, 22 Workforce Development Areas and 14 Metropolitan Statistical Areas (based on the 2000 Census). Please click on the links listed below to select your geographical area of interest.
